About Us

Fair and Fabulous is a new company established in 2007 by Abigail Smith and Joan Vesper, a mother and daughter partnership. We are a family run business (even my daughter came up with some of our logo ideas and is responsible for our sweet little flower designs!).

The idea grew from various discussions over Sunday lunches (as they often do!) as we had been looking for a business idea to combine with something we both loved. We had become increasingly aware of fair trade and what that actually meant to the developing world and their communities and had been doing our bit (however small) deciding to purchase fair trade wherever we could. Whilst, like many of you I’m sure, it just started off by choosing the Fairtrade bananas, tea and coffee at the Supermarket, we couldn’t help feeling that this was just the tip of the iceberg and maybe other areas of our shopping could be done more ethically.

We do not proclaim to being the greenest beings on the planet! but do what we can to make considered choices in our everyday lives and particularly when shopping to help protect the environment, the people that produce what we buy and also our own health and wellbeing. We like to think that we represent the average individual who likes lovely things but cares about where they have come from and what they are made of. We wanted to be able to give you an amazing choice of beautiful and in some cases really unusual things that you may not even have considered buying fair trade, organic or recycled.

Our motto “If you’re thinking fair, start thinking Fabulous” says it all. We have sourced some gorgeous items all ethically produced that will hopefully change your mind about so called green goods. We call this ethical shopping for the style conscious! The ultimate feel good shopping experience!
